Explain if and why education has the power to change South Africa?

Education is the key to unlocking a better future, not only for individuals but also for society as a whole. Education empowers individuals to think critically, to understand complex issues, and to find innovative solutions to problems. By educating people, we equip them with the knowledge and skills they need to improve their lives and make a positive impact on the world around them.

What does the CA(SA) qualification represent to you?

It’s a symbol of endless possibility, a passport to new opportunities, and a gateway to a world of choice.

If you think of the word “successful,” who is the first person that comes to mind and why?

Malala Yousafzai – Her unwavering dedication to promoting education for girls, despite facing violence and oppression, is an inspiration to us all. Her message of hope, resilience, and determination to create a better world has made her a highly successful advocate for education and women’s rights.

If you could put up a saying on a banner that was displayed around the country, what would it say and why?

“Realize deeply that the present moment is all you have. Make the NOW the primary focus of your life” – Eckhart Tolle

What does the future of education look like to you?

The future of education is bright with endless possibilities as we reflect on our past experiences, learn from them, and adapt to meet the changing demands of individuals, the profession, and society as a whole, creating an inclusive, innovative, and effective learning experience for all.

If you had to define the role of a “teacher”, what would it say?

The role of a great teacher is to not only facilitate learning but to also inspire and empower students to reach their full potential. They create a nurturing environment, provide personalized support, and offer opportunities for growth and success.
